Child neurodevelopment and the quality of ecological environments for children in the Amazon

The purpose was to analyse the relationship between quality of ecological environment and neurodevelopment children in an Early Childhood Education Unit Amazon. Seventy from two five years participated, assessed by Denver-II screening test, three times year. Home Environment Resources Scale, Family Poverty Index, Neighbourhood Quality Instrument, ECERS-R Scale were applied times. results agreed with hypothesis that there would be a longitudinal increase percentage normal score according environmental scores. findings showed belonging families higher poverty rate poorer obtained delay neurodevelopment. explanatory-model most influential variables suspect index, few joint activities parents, low interaction among neighbours and, at school. However, family is multidimensional risk factor cuts across contexts.
